Toys R Us: Iconic toy store back in UK for first time since 2018

Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us will reopen branches in Britain from 2022. Yesterday the brand announced it had signed a long-term exclusive license agreement to relaunch physical stores in the country.

But the Canadian branch of the brand survived.

Now, thanks to the success of Toys ‘R’ Us Canada, as well as the relaunch of the brand in Australia, Britain will see the iconic toy store return to its lands.

“Toys ‘R’ Us is a vibrant business today with over 900 stores and e-commerce sites in over 25 countries, generating over $2 billion in sales annually and growing, especially with new launches. in progress for the US and UK markets.”

“Since Toys ‘R’ Us returned to Australia in June 2019, we have quickly evolved as customers have returned to the much-loved brand and our e-commerce model has proven successful.

As the process of re-launching physical stores in the UK is underway, Britons will soon be able to buy Toys ‘R’ Us products online through the brand’s Australian site.

“Since its split from the United States, we have watched how the business has grown and focused on the Canadian customer.

“A lot has been accomplished and we are excited to help drive the business forward.”

Mr Putman added that the brand “will continue to assess all opportunities that make business sense”, prompting further speculation about its UK relaunch.

The expansion of Toys “R” Us has already begun as the brand announced that its products are available for purchase online through US retail giant Macy’s.

It will also launch more than 400 branches in Macy’s stores across the United States over the next few months.

In August, many social media users seemed happy about the return of Toys “R” Us.
