Coming to PS4, PS5 and PC.
Sifu, the martial arts adventure from developer Absolver Sloclap, finally has a release date and hits PlayStation and PC on February 22 of next year.
Sifu is a third-person, single-player, “intense melee combat” action game that follows a young Kung Fu student on a path to revenge as he tracks down his family’s murderers with nothing but a mysterious pendant. and, possibly, the ability to crush someone’s nose on the back of their head.
In fact, this is not entirely true; as players make their way through the world of Sifu – “from gang-ravaged suburbs to cold corridors of corporate towers” – they are encouraged to use whatever is available to them to overcome obstacles and hunt down their targets, whether disposable objects or makeshift weapons scattered around the environment.
Fortunately, all is not lost on defeat, and players are resurrected from death by their magic pendant. However, our hero will be older with each resurrection, and he may only have time to revive before having to start his quest again. “Kung Fu is a path for body and soul,” Sloclap says encouragingly. “Learn from your mistakes, unlock unique skills, and find the strength within yourself to master the devastating techniques of Pak-Mei Kung Fu.”
After a bit of a delay (Sifu was originally slated to launch in 2021), the quest for revenge now begins in earnest on February 22 next year. Sifu will be available on PlayStation 4, PS5, and PC through the Epic Games Store.
