Star Wars fans set to descend on Lichfield for toy auction

May the force be with you

Richard Winterton Auctioneers has confirmed that the sale at St Mary’s Hub in Market Street on Thursday March 17 will start at 4pm.

Items featured in the auction, which is being held in conjunction with the May The Toys Be With You free exhibition currently running on the site, will now be on display at the Hub from noon on the day of the sale.

The Hub will benefit from a percentage of the auction proceeds.

Auctioneer Richard Winterton said: “Thousands of people came to see the brilliant May The Toys Be With You and we can’t wait for the special auction there on March 17.

“We were also delighted to sponsor a private preview of the exhibition in February.”

He added: “We are now consigning for this very special sale. If you have Star Wars items you’re considering putting under the hammer, what better auction to aim for.

Considered an “absolute must for Star Wars fans”, May The Toys Be With You presents one of the UK’s finest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and original cinema posters, celebrating the range of toys vintage as well as the art and design of the iconic film series.

Tickets must be reserved for weekends and during mid-term, otherwise people can just show up.

The exhibition ends on Sunday, March 20.

Richard Winterton Auctioneers has a long association with The Hub at St Mary’s and hold free appraisals of watches, jewelery and silverware there on Tuesdays from 9.30am to 11am.
