Shah’s siblings fight for success in martial arts

Srinagar: Kaifa Shah and Aliza Shah, known as Shah Sisters in Kashmir Martial Arts Brotherhood, make Jammu and Kashmir proud of their performance in national level competitions.

Kaifa and Aliza have represented J&K in various national Wushu events across India and have won medals on several occasions. They are considered to be the next step in the Kashmir martial arts arena due to their performance on many levels.

The Shah sisters are from Srinagar and study at Presentation Convent Upper Secondary School in Rajbagh in grade 9 and 7 respectively. They loved martial arts since childhood, according to their parents.

“It was the summer season of 2013 when I was only six and over and Aliza was only three and over when my parents took us to the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Stadium. to play a martial art game. After some deliberation, our father decided to admit them both into Wushu Martial Arts, ”Kaifa said.

“Outside of Wushu, we have won several medals in national kickboxing, Pencat Silat, Taekwondo, school cross-country race, police marathon and several Khelo India and provincial tournaments with several congratulations from the Union Minister of Sports and Srinagar district administration, ”she said.

Aliza said competing in the national championships is in itself an achievement and winning medals is just the icing on the cake. This gives you the opportunity to mingle with participants from different corners of our beautiful and great country.

Both sisters competed at this year’s National and won gold and silver medals. The nationals took place in Ranchi.

So far, the two sisters have competed in eight National Wushu Championships and have won multiple medals.
