Thursday’s main slate on FanDuel features five games starting at 8:10 p.m. ET. The DraftKings’ main slate tonight also includes the Reds vs Nationals game starting about an hour earlier which is only scheduled for seven innings.
Projected weather is a concern tonight in the Orioles / White Sox and Rangers / Mariners games.
The highest rated pitcher on the ball model for FanDuel is Dylan cease of the White Sox.
As previously mentioned, weather is a major concern in this game tonight as precipitation is currently projected at 73%. If the game runs its course, I really like Cease as the best option on FanDuel. The Bales model plans to stop having more than 30 fancy stitches with the highest ceiling of slate. Tonight, he’ll pitch against an Orioles who have the worst record in MLB (17-32) and are currently on a nine-game streak.
The highest rated pitcher on the ball model for DraftKings is Stephen strasburg nationals.
Strasbourg have only played three games this year and have an inflated ERA for that reason. In two of his starts, he gave up only one hit while allowing eight runners to cross home plate in the other start. Tonight he will pitch against the Reds, who have the lowest projected point total on the slate at 2.8. Having started the 2021 season strong, the Reds hitters have been somewhat quiet lately, averaging just over three points per game in their last eight.
The most expensive pitcher on FanDuel is Shohei Ohtani Angels.
I’m sure everyone is aware of his solid hitting numbers, but Ohtani has pitched extremely well this year as well. In 30.1 innings, he allowed just 16 hits while striking out 45 opposing batters. If you are looking for a flaw in his game, it should be his crossed out / walking ratio. While his strikeout numbers are excellent, he also walked 22 batters in the young season. Tonight, Ohtani takes on the Athletics, who have the seventh most steps in MLB (180).
DraftKings’ most expensive launcher is Sonny gray reds.
While Gray’s 0-3 record is concerning, he has the second highest K / 9 rate on the slate (11.254). Model Bales considers Gray the fourth best option to pitch tonight on DraftKings due to the Nationals with the second lowest projected implied point total (3.3). In what should be a pitching duel, this seven-innings game piques my interest only because of the pitch.
Two valuable pitchers to consider are Kolby Allard and Chris Flexen, who face off in tonight’s game for the Rangers and Mariners, respectively. As far as potential goes, I would give Flexen the edge as he has the ability to throw for a higher number of shots.
At the same time, Allard is expected to pitch more than three innings for the first time this year. In just 20 innings pitched, Allard struck out 23 opposing batters. The Rangers and Mariners are in the MLB’s top 10 in tag strikeouts, which is another reason to consider these valuable pitchers today.
Today’s top stack comes from the Saint-Louis Cardinals:
- Tommy edman (S)
- Dylan carlson (S)
- Paul Goldschmidt (R)
- Nolan Arenado (R)
With the second-highest implied points total of 4.8, the Cardinals hitters will look to take advantage of the Diamondbacks, who have the MLB’s second-worst record (18-32) and are currently on a 10-game losing streak. Tonight is the opening of what is shaping up to be a high scoring four game series. On FanDuel, this stack will set you back $ 10.8,000 in salary and should total 46.4 Fantasy Points.
In the same game as the top stack, there are a handful of Diamondbacks hitters who are highly rated on the Bales model. Players such as Ketel Marte, Pavin Smith, Josh Rojas, Eduardo Escobar, and David Peralta are all near the top of the list. The Diamondbacks are expected to have exactly the same total implied runs projected as the Cardinals at 4.8.
The bullet model considers José Abreu like the highest game on the slate tonight. In his last four games, Abreu has struck safely four times, including two home runs. Although his batting average of .259 is moderately low, when Abreu comes into contact with baseball, he usually flies quite far.
Another solid stick option to consider is the 2020 AL Rookie of the Year Kyle lewis Sailors. Although Lewis has struggled to find consistency in the first two months of the season, he’s been swinging a hot stick lately as he’s reached base in seven straight games. With Lewis’s fantasy price steadily increasing, it is recommended that you take advantage of the value before it gets too expensive.
Finally, here are a handful of valuable pastas to consider while completing your rosters today:
- Alex Dickerson (SF)
- Matt Carpenter (STL)
- Ty France (SEA)
- Josh Reddick (ARI)
- Edmundo Sosa (STL)
