Good Deals, Good Cause: Toy Store Presenting Outdoor Sale August 27 | Community

A one-day parking lot sale will be held at the toy store this Saturday.

Duncan’s Toy Store will be holding a “We Can’t Get Through The Warehouse Sale” from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 27 at the Duncan’s Toy Store.

Kim Davis, executive director, said The Toy Shop of Duncan will open during those special hours for a parking lot sale on the west side of its warehouse parking lot.

Davis said the purpose of the sale was to be able to empty the warehouse and make more room for their annual fall sale from September 29 to October 1.

When the toy store holds jumble sales, it can take those funds and buy toys for children in the community each year.

“We accept everything except food as long as it’s in good working order,” she said.

Davis said the community has been very supportive of Duncan’s Toy Store when it comes to these dig sales and that aside from the private donations they receive, much of their funding comes from the sales they rack up.

Each year, Toy Shop of Duncan is known to comfortably bring Christmas to over 1,200 children in Duncan thanks to an all-volunteer staff, totaling nearly 150 people, plus a committee overseeing the program and donations.

For the fall sale, the toy store will be open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 29; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, September 30; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 1.

“This will be our last sale of the year,” she said. “After this sale, we will move into preparing for the holiday season with the launch of listings in November.”

Duncan’s Toy Store is located at 931 W. Willow in Duncan.
