Gadzhi Omargadzhiev locks in wicked looking knee bar

Dana White’s Contender 45 series fight lived up to its best bill.

Undefeated middleweight Gadzhi Omargadzhiev faced Jansey Silva at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, as the two hoped for victory and potentially a UFC contract from Dana White.

While the two were engaged on the canvas, Omargadzhiev (13-0) began to grab Silva’s right leg. Initially, Silva (7-2) responded by landing a hard blow while his opponent was still locking the hold, but that didn’t stop the attempt.

Omargadzhiev kept turning and bent Silva’s leg in all kinds of directions. A short moment later, he found the leverage he needed and pushed one last time on the knee lifter, forcing a quick blow from Silva.

The hyperextension of the knee seemed to have caused structural damage to Silva, but at least he was able to get back on his feet and leave the cage on his own.

Omargadzhiev landed a UFC contract for his first round as White was impressed with his performance as an undefeated fighter with a world of potential in the middleweight division, even comparing himself to the former lightweight champion of the UFC Khabib Nurmagomedov.
