Enhance your Easter with a Community Toy Hunt

Easter weekend is fast approaching and the classic Easter Egg Hunt is happening this Friday.

The Up-Cycled Easter Party begins at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Riverfront Park, and children are asked to bring toys in good second-hand condition. These toys will be hidden throughout the area, and participants can find a “new to them” toy and give them a whole new home.

“I don’t like the idea of everyone buying more plastic than anyone else wants. “, explains the organizer of the event, Crystal Blanchard. “I think kids will have fun rummaging through their toy box and finding things they want to give to other kids and it’s a way to trade more than it brings more waste and more material items in our homes.”

Each child is invited to bring a basket and five small recycled toys to donate before heading out to find five toys themselves. Toys will be hidden in designated areas to ensure that every child will find something suitable for their age.

Time to recycle those toys!

The toy hunt is just one feature of what is sure to be a morning full of family fun, including an obstacle course, parachute games, mascots, and more.

“I have a home preschool with a program called Artbeat Schoolhouse. I have whole loads of obstacles to add to the existing obstacles in Riverfront Park.

The event fee is $20 per family, which also includes a professional family photo. To register and for more details, go here.
